Laura Kaeppeler, the new Miss America was awarded a $50,000 scholarship by Amway. In addition, the company awarded an additional $300,000 in scholarships to other contestants in the January 14, 2012 contest, held in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. These scholarships help to empower American women to reach their professional and personal goals. Kaeppeler’s plans include pursuing a degree in family law. Before entering the contest, Kaeppeler earned her undergraduate degree from Carthage College in music and vocal performance.
The vice president of Amway’s marketing department in North America, Jori Hartwig describes the pageant as a long-standing tradition affecting the lives of many Americans. The pageant has shown itself as a great partner to Amway in its fifty-year history. The contest is one way that Amway can support women as well as their dreams. Miss America is one of the leading achievement programs in the nation and provides the largest scholarship assistance in the world to young women.
Kaeppeler will serve as one of the ambassadors for Amway and associated brands during her reign.
