Herbalife Soccer LA Galaxy Extension
The MLM Company Herbalife just signed what is being reported as a 10-year extension of their current agreement with soccer team LA Galaxy as the official sponsor of that sports team.
“We made our first commitment to the LA Galaxy and MLS more than five years ago and we are delighted to carry on by committing to a long-term relationship,” said Michael O. Johnson, Herbalife’s chairman and CEO. “We continue to believe in the global appeal of the club, and the sport of soccer, to promote a healthy, active life. The LA Galaxy have created much excitement for the sport among soccer fans and among our independent distributors around the world.”
What originally started as a nutritional sponsorship deal deal in 2005, has been inked on with an official Herbalife LA Galaxy extension until at least the 2022 MLS Soccer season. The official sponsorship deal and branding of their Jerseys began in 2007.

Additional exposure and “branding” for one. The Herbalife Soccer logo will continue to be prominently displayed on the in-game soccer jerseys
While traditionally MLM business have relied on a warm market approach to getting the word out about their products and business opportunity, and to an extent, utilized the Internet to expand the reach globally, this relationship represents a profound change from that norm.
In particular in the last few years, as the LA Galaxy have risen to prominence in the MLS World, winning a MLS championship in 2011 no doubt have created exposure for the Herbalife brand worldwide and improving the direct selling image overall.
Another part of this agreement is that both companies will donate $2.5 million donation to support vulnerable and needy kids in the LA area.
